Many players have reported bugs and crashes, with some being unable to play the game at all. It is reasonable to say that Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut has its fair share of problems. The player will need to interact with characters and items to progress through the story, which contains many unsettling elements and a generally tense and eerie atmosphere. The game features an open world that the player can explore from a third-person perspective. Francis soon finds out that there is more to this story than simple murder and will uncover Greenvale's darkest secrets in the process. In Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut, the player takes on the role of special agent Francis York Morgan, who has come to the small town of Greenvale to investigate the brutal murder of a young woman.
